Wallet Security and Responsibility: What Every Qubetics User Must Know

At Qubetics, we are committed to transparency, education, and empowering our users. As a decentralized Layer 1 blockchain project, we operate on non-custodial principles. This means we do not and cannot control your wallet, your funds, or any activity within your wallet. With this freedom comes full responsibility.

We’ve seen some users raise concerns about compromised wallets and seek to assign responsibility to us for outcomes caused by their own wallet security lapses. This blog is designed to provide absolute clarity on how non-custodial systems work, what our responsibilities are, and—most importantly—what your responsibilities are as a Qubetics participant.

What Is a Non-Custodial Wallet?

A non-custodial wallet is a type of cryptocurrency wallet where you, and only you, control the private keys or seed phrases and therefore full access to the funds.

  • Qubetics does NOT have the ability to store or access your private keys.
  • We do NOT control your wallet.
  • We do NOT manage your tokens post-distribution.
  • We do NOT have the ability to recover, block, reassign, or reverse any wallet or token actions.

This is by design, it's the essence of decentralized finance (DeFi).

Why Wallet Security Is 100% Your Responsibility

When you participated in the Qubetics public sale or connect your wallet to our dashboard, you are engaging with a system that automatically allocates tokens to the wallet address you provide. If your wallet becomes compromised due to phishing, leaked seed phrases, or any security lapse on your end, the consequences fall solely on you.

Think of your wallet like a bank vault: if you give your vault key to someone, you’re the one liable, not the vault manufacturer.

Relevant Terms of Use

Our Terms of Use make this responsibility crystal clear. From Section 8 – Cryptocurrency Risks:

b. Security Responsibility: Safeguarding your wallet and private keys is your responsibility. Qubetics Network is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to securely manage your digital assets.

This clause is binding and clearly explains that no legal or operational liability falls on Qubetics in the case of wallet compromises.

We Cannot Manually Intervene

We often receive requests asking us to “block,” “freeze,” or “prevent” token distribution to wallets that users claim are compromised. Unfortunately, and unequivocally:

  • We cannot selectively block or stop wallet activity for individual users.
  • We cannot manually change a user’s wallet on their behalf.
  • Wallet updates are only possible through the user dashboard and must be completed by the wallet owner.

This is to protect all users and uphold the decentralized nature of our platform.

What You Should Do If Your Wallet Is Compromised

1.     Immediately change your receiving wallet address via your dashboard before the receiving wallet change feature cutoff date (date to be confirmed).

2.     Create a new wallet using a secure and private method.

3.     Store your seed phrase offline and never share it with anyone.

4.     Double-check compatibility with Qubetics-supported wallets by reviewing this guide: Compatible Wallets Blog

Important Note: Even if you change your receiving wallet address, anyone who still has access to your compromised wallet can also change it again. This is why it's critical to actively monitor your dashboard and immediately take action if you notice any unauthorized changes.

Once the cutoff date passes, we have no way of reversing or reclaiming those tokens. Your failure to act proactively will result in permanent loss.

How to Change Your Receiving Wallet Address

If your wallet has been compromised or you simply wish to update your receiving address, follow the steps below to securely make the change:

1.     Visit your dashboard on our website, connect the original wallet allocated with tokens and click on the Settings tab.

2.     Enter your new EVM-compatible wallet address into the “New EVM Address” field located at the bottom of the Settings tab.

3.     Click Confirm and sign the message with your wallet to authorize the change.

If the change was successful, your new receiving wallet address will be displayed under “Wallet Allocated Tokens” after you refresh the page on the same tab.

Important:
Make sure your new receiving wallet is compatible with the Qubetics mainnet. You can find a list of supported wallets here:

Conclusion

We understand how frustrating it can be to experience a compromised wallet. However, Qubetics does not have access to your private keys or seed phrases, we do not have control over your wallet, and we are not responsible for security failures on your end.

If you are unfamiliar with how to protect your digital assets, we strongly recommend doing additional research or seeking help from professionals before interacting with blockchain technology.
